Zahra Mohammad Taher is a nine year old 4th. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. She lost her father in an accident and her mother is the only provider for her family of seven members. Her mother works as a homemaker, but her monthly income hardly covers the cost of foods. She is unable to support her children's education. Zahra is a talented young girl with a high ambition to become a doctor in the future and support her mother and other women in her community. Zahra is a Bamyan Foundation's scholarship recipient for 2017 academic year.

Hasibulllah Dawood is a 12 year old 5th. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. His father was killed in Wardak Province. Since his father's death, Hasibullah along with his four siblings and mother have lived with his uncle's family. His uncle is the only provider for both families. Hasibullah is a brilliant student. He is interested in becoming a politician in the future and working to improve security in his country so children in Afghanistan will no longer continue to lose their parents as he did. Hasibullah is a recipient of Bamyan Foundation's scholarship for 2017 academic year at Baba High School. 

 

Qurban Ali Jawad is a 15 year old 9th. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. His father was killed six years ago and his mother has since been the only provider for him and his three siblings. Qurban Ali's mother works as a cook at the Department of Education in Bamyan Province and her monthly income is hardly enough for her family of five. Qurban Ali is a talented, creative and ambitious student. He is dedicated to learning Math, Science, and English. His future goal is to become an engineer and work toward Afghanistan's development. Qurban Ali is a recipient of Bamyan Foundation's scholarship for 2017 academic year at Baba High School.

 

Sakina Abdul Ahmad is a nine year old 2nd. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. She lost her mother as an infant. Her father was unable to raise her due to unemployment and financial problems. He sought another family in the community to adopt Sakina. Unfortunately, while meeting her basic needs, Shakina's new family is unable to afford her education. Sakina was found eligible to receive Bamyan Foundation's scholarship for academic year 2017 through Bab High School. Sakina is a talented student and keen to learn reading and writing. She is also interested in Arts and Math. She is an enthusiastic participant in school programs and activities. Sakina wants to be a teacher in the future to educate other girls.

 

Suraya Ghulam Ali is a nine year old 3rd. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. She lost her father when she was an infant and her mother has been the only care provider for Suraya and her two siblings. Suraya's mother works as a cook, but her monthly income barely meets her family's basic needs. Suraya is a smart young girl interested in earning an education. Her favorite school subjects are Dari/Persian and Math. She wants to become a teacher in the future and teach other girls. She is Bamyan Foundation's scholarship recipient for 2017 academic year.

 

Ali Khurram Mohammad Hussain is a 15 year old 9th. grade student at Baba High School in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. After the death of his father about five years ago, her mother has been the only care provider for Ali Khurram and his three sisters. He is an extremely talented, extraordinarily creative and strongly dedicated to earning an education. His favorite subjects in school are Math, Science, and English. He is also interested in agriculture. He wants to be an engineer in the future and work for his country's development. Bamyan Foundation offered Ali Khurram a scholarship for 2017 academic year through Baba High School.
